ABOUT COUSIN DANNY

  • Choreographer for the Los Angeles Lakers

  • Educator and High School “Teacher of the Year”

  • High-Energy Youth Speaker Utilizing Music, Dance & Movement

Danny Vuong-Batimana—better known to students as Cousin Danny—is a former Los Angeles Lakers choreographer turned nationally recognized elementary school speaker.

Blending high-energy dance with life-changing lessons, he’s on a mission to help students boost their mental health, motivation, and academic success through movement.

A former classroom teacher and credentialed educator, Cousin Danny founded the award-winning collegiate dance team Team Millennia and later became the manager of Poreotics—winners of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. After years of touring the world with his dance crew, he saw firsthand how kids were becoming more sedentary and stressed. That inspired him to create a dance-infused school assembly that has impacted over 600 schools and counting.

Cousin Danny’s unique background as a teacher, choreographer, and motivational speaker makes him a standout for school events. He speaks your students’ language—literally moving them to healthier habits, improved confidence, and better grades. His message is research-aligned, culturally responsive, and wildly fun. If you’re looking for a speaker who brings heart, hype, and results, Cousin Danny delivers.
